TUV Certification
The certification has also been posted on the TUV.com website which enables our
customers and business partners to confirm our ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and
OHSAS 18001 Certification is up to date.
TUV Rheinland is accredited through the South African National Accreditation Service
(SANAS) as well as through the German Association for Accreditation Trägergemeinschaft
für Akkreditierung (TGA). The ISO 9001:2008 Certification is effective from 10 December
2009, ISO 14001:2004 Certification is effective from 26 January 2011 and the OHSAS
18001:2007 Certification is effective from 27 April 2011 and are monitored through
surveillance audits by TUV Rheinland.
Quality planning, process management and customer satisfaction as part of our Quality
Management System (ISO 9001) have been effectively integrated into all aspects of
our business to achieve process and product consistency. Environmental Management
(ISO 14001) has been effectively integrated into all aspects of our business to
reduce waste, pollution and our carbon footprint and achieve environmentally friendly
processes and products. Effective implementation of Health & Safety Management (OHSAS
18001) has ensured that the Disabling Injury Frequency Rate (DIFR) was reduced from
5.3 in 2008 to 0.16 in 2010. In support of our valued customers, continual improvement
techniques are entrenched at TRICOM Structures to become a way of life, including
training employees and encouraging and involving our total supply chain in quality
and environmental management.

By integrating Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management into everything
we do we ensure a sustainable and profitable business. Quality, Health & Safety
and Environmental Management Systems ensure that activities and related resources
are managed as processes and that the sequence and inter-relationships of these
processes are understood.

processes and outputs. We adhere to best practices by conforming to appropriate
national and international codes and standards. The Quality, Health & Safety and
Environmental Management Systems are entrenched in all aspects of TRICOM’s business
to ensure objectives are met.
TRICOM Structures demonstrates its care for the environment by implementing an Environmental
Management System that complies with the requirements of international and regulatory
requirements as well as reducing its carbon footprint in global markets which benefits
our customers as well as the environment. We achieve this by the following:
- Improved tower design which yields 10 - 15% reduction in steel mass.
- Optimise and save energy by introduction of renewable energy sources i.e. wind turbines
and solar panels for towers.
